Areas of Practice

At Springer Law, LLC, I provide experienced, client-focused legal representation across several key areas of law, with an emphasis on practical solutions and personal attention. Whether you’re facing a family law matter, criminal charge, or planning for the future, I guide you through each step with honesty, clarity, and compassion.

Every case is different, and my goal is to help you make informed decisions that protect your rights, your finances, and your peace of mind. Explore the links below to learn more about my services:

  • Family Law – Divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, and guardianships
  • Criminal Defense – Misdemeanors, minor felonies, traffic offenses, and probation matters
  • Expungements & Record Sealing – Clearing or sealing criminal records for a fresh start
  • Estate Planning – Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and planning for the future

Family Law

Family law cases often involve deeply personal and emotional situations whether it’s ending a marriage, establishing custody, or protecting your child’s future. At Springer Law, LLC, I understand how overwhelming these moments can feel. My approach combines compassion with practical, strategic guidance to help you navigate each step with confidence and clarity.

I represent clients in all areas of family law throughout Indiana, including divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, guardianships, and paternity matters. My focus is always on helping you reach a fair resolution that protects your rights, your finances, and your family.

Paternity

When parents are not married, a paternity action is necessary to legally establish a father’s rights and responsibilities. I represent both mothers and fathers in paternity cases involving custody, parenting time, and child support, ensuring that orders are fair and consistent with the child’s best interests.

Divorce & Legal Separation

Divorce can be one of the most challenging experiences in life, emotionally and financially. Whether your case is uncontested or highly contested, I provide straightforward guidance and strong advocacy to ensure your interests are protected.

If you’re not yet ready for divorce, a legal separation may be an option. Legal separation allows couples to remain married while temporarily addressing custody, parenting time, and financial responsibilities. I can help you evaluate whether this is the right approach for your situation and guide you through the process from start to finish.

Common issues include:

  • Division of assets and debts
  • Temporary custody and support orders
  • Property settlements
  • Legal separations lasting up to one year

Child Custody, Parenting Time & Child Support

Custody and support matters are often the most emotional aspects of any family law case. I help parents develop or modify arrangements that promote stability and protect the best interests of the child. Whether you’re establishing parenting time, modifying an existing order, or enforcing a prior agreement, I’ll ensure your voice is heard and your child’s needs are prioritized.

Common services:

  • Initial custody, parenting time, and support orders
  • Modifications due to changes in income or circumstances
  • Enforcement and contempt actions
  • Daycare, health insurance, and extracurricular expense disputes
  • Addressing arrears and wage withholding

Modifications of Custody, Parenting Time & Support

Circumstances often change after a divorce or paternity order is finalized. When income, employment, or parenting situations shift, I assist clients in modifying existing court orders to reflect new realities — or in opposing changes that are not in the child’s best interests.

Guardianship

When a parent is unable to care for their child, or when an adult becomes incapacitated, guardianship provides legal authority to ensure proper care and decision-making. I help families petition for guardianship of minors or adults, navigate the court process, and establish clear responsibilities.

Common services:

  • Guardianship of minors or adults with disabilities
  • Emergency or temporary guardianships
  • Successor or standby guardianships
  • Termination or modification of guardianships

Estate Planning

Planning for the future doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Whether you need a simple will or a more detailed estate plan, I help individuals and families throughout Indiana create plans that protect what matters most. My goal is to give you clarity, confidence, and peace of mind—knowing your wishes will be honored and your loved ones provided for.

I take time to understand your goals, explain your options, and prepare documents that reflect your specific needs. Whether you’re planning for yourself, your family, or aging parents, I’ll help make sure your plan works the way you intend.

Common services include:

  • Wills and trusts
  • Powers of attorney (financial and healthcare)
  • Living wills and advance directives
  • Estate plan updates and revisions
  • Transfer-on-death (TOD) deeds and beneficiary designations

Criminal Defense

Facing criminal charges is seriousand what you do now matters. I represent clients in Indiana facing non-violent offenses and minor felonies, working to protect your rights, your freedom, and your future. I handle your case personally, crafting strategy that reflects your situation rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Typical services include:

  • Misdemeanor defense (including drug and alcohol-related offenses)
  • Selected minor felony cases (based on facts, jurisdiction and client goals)
  • Traffic and license-related offenses (suspensions, OWI/DUI)
  • Probation violations
  • Pre-trial negotiations and plea agreements

Expungement & Record Sealing

Everyone deserves a second chance. If you’ve completed your sentence or otherwise qualify, it may be possible to clear or seal past convictions so they don’t continue to hinder your employment, housing, or personal life. I’ll review your criminal history, determine eligibility under Indiana law, and guide you through the process step-by-step.

What I can help with:

  • Evaluating eligibility for expungement/record sealing in Indiana
  • Preparing and filing petitions with the court
  • Advising you how the record sealing affects background checks, employment and rights
